About · PestRay

Deterrence, not destruction.

PestRay exists because the default answer to pests is a blanket one. Poison in the walls, snap traps on the kitchen floor, spikes along every ledge, reached for all at once whether the situation calls for it or not. It punishes the animal for being an animal, and often punishes your pets, your garden and your conscience along the way. We build the smallest answer that works.

01 / The problem

The old way harms more than it helps.

Rodenticides move up the food chain into owls and house pets. Glue boards and snap traps turn a nuisance into suffering. Spikes and netting turn a home into a fortress that still doesn’t work for long. Most of it is sold with promises nobody audits. What all of it shares is not that it acts, it is that it acts indiscriminately, on everything in range, for as long as it sits there.

02 / The idea

Make the spot feel unsafe. Nothing more.

Every PestRay deterrent works on one principle: animals settle where it feels calm and predictable. Constant motion, shifting reflections, randomized ultrasonic tones — powered by sun and wind — are designed to make a roofline, a yard or a wall cavity feel unstable, so pests move along. Nothing is trapped. Nothing is poisoned. Nothing is harmed.

03 / The ladder

Deter where you can. Capture only where you must.

Deterrence has a reach, and it stops somewhere: you cannot make a fruit bowl feel unsafe to the fruit flies already gathered around it. So where deterrence cannot reach, we make one targeted thing instead of a blanket one, the FlyLock line, a scent lure trap that draws fruit flies in and holds them, and every page that sells it calls it a trap. A snap trap underfoot and a sealed lure chamber standing beside the fruit bowl are not the same act, and we will not pretend they are. Because that trap now goes into kitchens rather than orchards, its pages carry a full safety section rather than a footnote: the lure is not food, it stays out of reach of children, and it does not sit over a surface you prepare food on. That is the whole ladder: deterrence first, targeted capture only where deterrence cannot go, poison on no rung of it at all.

04 / How we work

We tell you what a deterrent won’t do. Results vary by placement and season, birds can habituate to anything static, and no device replaces removing the food that draws pests in. Our guides say so in plain words — that’s the bar we hold every claim to.
